Lent begins on Ash Wednesday, February 18th

Lent is a period of forty days when Christians prepare for their greatest celebration of the year, Easter, which this year is April 5th

On Ash Wednesday there will be Mass at St. Francis’s at 7pm when ash will be used to make the sign of the cross on a person’s forehead. It is a sign of their seeking God’s forgiveness, and knowing their need of him

Each Sunday at our 11am service, the focus will be on ‘encounters with Jesus ‘ as seen in the gospel  reading

Lent 2, March 1st: Nicodemus

Lent 3, March 8th: Woman at the Well

Lent 4, March 15th: The Man born blind

Lent 5, March 22nd: Lazarus
