Lent

Lent begins on Ash Wednesday, February 26th

Lent is a period of forty days when Christians prepare for their greatest celebration of the year, Easter, which this year is April 12th

On Ash Wednesday there will be Mass at St. Francis’s at 7.30pm when ash will be used to make the sign of the cross on a person’s forehead. It is a sign of their seeking God’s forgiveness, and knowing their need of him
