Syon Early Music Concert – 25th March

A-court-gathering-to-hear-music-1030x360Syon Early Music¬†are pleased to invite you to our forthcoming concert at St. Francis of Assisi church, on the Great West Road at Isleworth. Following the theme of “Laudate et Jubilate”, we will be performing some lovely music by Purcell, Monteverdi and Handel, and also giving the first performance in the UK of Scipione Stella’s Stabat Mater (1610).

The programme includes an extended motet from Monteverdi’s Selva Morale e Spirituale and Purcell’s grand Jubilate written for St Cecilia’s Day.¬† The concert also features one of Handel’s most celebrated arias, Scherza Infida from the opera Ariodante, which will be sung on this occasion by the workshop’s director Gerald Place.

The concert starts at 7.30 p.m. on Tuesday 25th March 2014.

As usual, the concert is free (with a voluntary retiring collection) and we hope you will enjoy a drink and some snacks with us afterwards.

We look forward to meeting you all again!
